Full-Time Department: Events
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, high-capacity Generalist to take full ownership of our high-content event series. You will not just "organize" events; you will architect them.
In this role, you will be the bridge between editorial strategy and logistical execution. You will be responsible for designing intellectual events focused on Business, Markets, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Personal Finance. You will curate the conversations, book the talent, design the marketing campaigns, support the show on the day, and manage the post-event community.
If you are a strategist who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty with execution, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conceptualization & Content Strategy
The Architect: Develop the thematic arc, format, and agenda for high-impact events (panels, fireside chats, keynote presentations).
Topic Research: Stay ahead of the curve on trends in business, finance, and markets to ensure our content is relevant, timely, and highly educational.
Format Design: Decide the "run of show" to ensure maximum engagement—balancing heavy technical content with dynamic, fast-paced discussions.
2. Curation & Speaker Management
Talent Scouting: Identify and recruit high-profile speakers, industry experts, and thought leaders who align with the event theme.
Speaker Prep: conduct pre-event briefing calls to align panelists on talking points, ensuring the discussion avoids "fluff" and delivers actionable insights.
Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for VIPs and speakers
3. Marketing & Communication Design
Campaign Lead: Design and execute the pre-event marketing timeline to drive ticket sales/registrations.
Content Creation: Write compelling copy for landing pages, email invitations, and social media posts.
Visual Assets: Direct the design of marketing collateral, slide decks, and digital assets using tools like Canva, Photoshop, or similar.
4. Event Logistics & Planning
Assist with the logistical planning and coordination of all events, including venue setup, registration flow, and programme timelines.
Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure all event requirements — audio-visual, staging, speaker arrangements, and technical needs — are met.
Support on-ground operations during events, including ushering speakers, managing run-downs, and coordinating with production teams.
Help troubleshoot last-minute changes and ensure smooth event execution from start to finish.
5. Post-Event Engagement
Retention Loop: Design and send post-event communications (recaps, thank you notes, key takeaways) to keep the audience warm.
Feedback Loop: Analyze attendee feedback and data to improve future event formats.
Community Building: nurture relationships with attendees to convert them into repeat visitors for the next event cycle.
Who You Are
You are a Generalist: You are just as comfortable discussing macro-economic trends with a CEO as you are moving chairs or adjusting a microphone stand.
You are Intellectually Curious: You have a genuine interest in business, finance, and markets. You know the difference between a generic sales pitch and a valuable panel discussion.
You are a Strong Writer: You can write email copy that gets opened and event descriptions that drive conversions.
You are visually inclined: You have a good eye for design and can produce clean, professional marketing materials on the fly.
Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of experience in event production, content programming, or a related marketing role.
Portfolio: Proven track record of producing end-to-end events (please share examples of agendas you curated or events you managed).
Tech Stack: Proficiency in Eventbrite (or similar ticketing platforms), Email Marketing tools (Mailchimp/HubSpot), and Design tools (Canva/Adobe Creative Suite).
Soft Skills: Extreme attention to detail, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to work under pressure.
Why Join Us?
Ownership: You will have full creative control over the event lifecycle.
Access: You will work directly with top-tier industry leaders and speakers.
Impact: You are not just filling seats; you are building a community of learning and professional growth.
How to Apply
Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter. In your cover letter, please describe a business or finance topic you think is trending right now and propose a 3-person mock panel (names or titles) you would curate to discuss it.
Strategic Advice on this JD
The "Mock Panel" Test: I added a specific instruction in the "How to Apply" section. This is a filter. It instantly tells you if the candidate actually understands the subject matter (Business/Finance) and if they have the instinct to curate a balanced panel.
Terminology: By using the term "Producer" rather than "Coordinator," you signal that this is a creative and strategic role, not just administrative.
Generalist Emphasis: The "Who You Are" section explicitly calls out the need to switch between high-level strategy and low-level execution, which is crucial for the role you described.
